DAY 1. DEPARTURE FROM NAIROBI (NAIROBI-SAMBURU)

DISTANCE: 489.3KM TIME: 9HR 20MINS

Pick up from Nairobi town. Briefing from our tour guide about the trip then journey begins. Make a scheduled stop at the rift valley view point for some the scenic will take us through the lower slopes of Mt. Kenya and across the Equator then have a stopover in beautiful Nanyuki and along the section where the Equator passes through.
Arrive in Samburu, do the check in in our reserved accommodations (lodge/camp), have lunch then proceed on to the late afternoon game drives in our Land cruiser with a pop up rooftop.

DAY 2: SAMBURU
Full day in Samburu with early and morning game drives in search for the “Special Five’’ or ‘Northern Five’’ which are only found in the Northern Equator. They include; Ostrich, Gerenuk, Reticulated giraffe, Giraffe, ray Zebra etc.
Game viewing is best along the banks of Ewaso Ngiro River which runs east-west across the park, home crocodiles, vultures, kingfishers, marabous, Guinea fowl etc. It’s also a major point where the animals come to drink water. Thereafter we can opt to visit the Samburu, learn about their unique culture and lifestyle, and purchase their products.

DAY 3: SAMBURU-NAKURU
DISTANCE: 281KM
TIME: 5HRS 33MINS
Rise up for early breakfast at 0600hrs
Exit the park with enroute game drive
Drive to L. Nakuru national park arriving in time for lunch. Check into our lodge and relax for the afternoon.
Lake Nakuru is world famous for its huge bird population. At the peak of flamingo season more than 2 million lesser and greater flamingoes can be seen there.
Evening game drive along L. Nakuru looking out for lions, buffalos, rhinos, leopards, striped hyenas, klipspringer, among others. L. Nakuru also has the largest forest area under the euphorbia species of euphorbia candelabrum in Africa.
Dinner & overnight: Mbweha camp.

DAY 4. NAKURU-MASAI MARA
DISTANCE: 228KM
TIME: 4HRS 17MINS
Rise up for early breakfast at 0600hrs
Exit the park with enroute game drive.

Thereafter leave for Maasai Mara, Cross the rift valley floor and drive on to the Loita plains arriving in Masai Mara in the afternoon. Check into our camp or lodge.
Maasai Mara game reserve is arguably the most popular park in Africa. Famous for its wide open spaces, uninterrupted by tree cover; the Maasai Mara offers a natural theatre for viewing wildlife. The park is home to over 3 million animals and the highest concentration of big cat predators.
The annual wildebeest migration, which happens between July and October further, adds immense value to the Maasai Mara product. Over 1.5 million animals move through 3,000km and between two countries in search of the pasture. The Mara river crossing is the single most popular event of this migration where you can witness thousands of wildebeest stampeding into the crocodile infested Mara River.
After lunch enjoy a 2hour siesta/relaxation in your room. At 4.00pm, you will go for your first game drive until dusk. Look out for the big five and don’t miss the magical Mara sunsets.

DAY 4: MASAI MARA
Wake up to a cup of coffee and bitings at 6.00am.
Depart for your early game drive at 6:30 am inside the Mara .this morning game drive has the best chances to see a Lion kill, Leopard ambush as the animals look for their breakfast.
Return to lodge at 8.30am to have a proper buffet breakfast. Relax in the lodge with lunch at 1300hrs.
Evening game drive at 1600hrs until dusk. Look out for the elusive black Rhino, Leopard and wild dogs.
Visit the Masai Village and learn their culture.

DAY 5.MAASAI MARA-NAIVASHA
DISTANCE: 232KM
TIME: 3HRS 58MINS
Wake up for an early morning game drive, thereafter exit Maasai Mara for L. Naivasha.
Arrive at L. Naivasha and check in at L. Naivasha Sopa Lodge at 0900hrs.
Relax at the lodge in the afternoon with an option of swimming in the pool.

Dinner and overnight: L.Naivasha Sopa Lodge
Meal plan: breakfast, lunch & dinner.

DAY 6: NAIVASHA-NAIROBI
DISTANCE: 97KM
TIME: 2HRS
Wake up for Breakfast.
Depart for a boat ride to the hippo pool. Look out for the fish eagle as it swoops in to the lake to catch fish or when swinging its head back & forth.
Visit Crescent Island. On arrival on Crescent Island start a 1hour walk among giraffe, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles.
Look out for giant African rock python basking lazily in the morning sun. Complete the walk and return to boat to transfer back to lodge.
Depart to Hells Gate Park
Hell’s gate Park landscape inspired the multi-award winning movie The Lion King. It is also in the gorges that Angelina Jolie shot the movie Tomb Raiders-the cradle of life.
If time allows we can swim in the geothermal spa at hells gate.
Depart Naivasha for Nairobi in the afternoon around 1300hrs.
