The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

This is an elephant’s orphanage inside the western end of Nairobi National Park, offers a wonderful opportunity to see the baby elephants being fed with milk from bottles and when they play with each other. The keepers will give you a lecture of each of them explaining their names and their life histories on how they were orphaned. It’s a great place to go and adopt a baby elephant

Nairobi national park

This is a half day trip to see lions, rhinos, buffaloes in the Nairobi national park and to view the wildlife in this great park. Narobi National Park was established in 1942 as a place of recreation by the colonial settlers right next to the growing city.Nairobi national park main attractions include the rhinos, lions and leopards and the buffalo. There are however no elephants in the Nairobi national park due to its limited size compared to elephants need for wide range lands.

The Giraffe Centre

Located in Nairobi, and it is an amazing place to visit. It started as a rehabilitation project to rescue the Rothschild Giraffe. There were only 120 giraffes left in a ranch in Western Kenya when the Giraffe Center was founded.The giraffe center provides you with pellets that you can feed the giraffes by hand with. You can even give take photos while feeding the animals by your mouth and it seems like you are kissing the giraffe. That is a priceless photo opportunity to miss.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Nairobi National Park Itinerary
06:00am: Pick up from Hotel/Apartrment or Nairobi Airport to Nairobi National Park.
06:30am: Enter the Nairobi Park and start your game drive. Start with the Ivory burning monument and the savannah grasslands to see lions, gazelles.Visit the dry forest to look out for black rhinos and leopards and birds.
Descend into river Mbagathi looking for crocodiles and hippos view morkoyiet valley.
Return to the savannah to find white rhinos, buffalos, giraffes
10:30pm:Exit the park and head to the Elephant Orphanage.
David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage
10:45am: Arrive at the David Sheldrick orphanage shelter
11:00am: Start of the Public viewing of the baby elephants at the Nairobi Elephant orphanage
12:00pm: End of the public viewing and lecture on baby elephants.
12:15pm: Depart the David Sheldrick elephant orphanage and head to Giraffe Centre.
Giraffe Center Day Tour Itinerary
1:00pm:Arrive at the Giraffe centre located at the Karen suburbs. Start feeding the giraffes as you hug them and take pictures up close with these humble giants.
2:.00pm: Giraffe centre day tour ends with a Lunch Stop over at Cultiva Farm Restaurant or
Restaurant for Lunch.
3:00pm : End of Lunch,drop off back to your Apartment/Hotel or Airport

Get an early, 6:30am start with pickup at your Nairobi hotel, and enjoy views of the Great Rift Valley as you make the 3-hour drive to Lake Nakuru National Park in a private vehicle. Upon arrival, go deep into the park on a 3-hour game drive with your guide, who will offer commentary throughout the day. The forest and grassland around Lake Nakuru National Park are renowned for bird watching, and the reserve is also home to white rhinos, waterbucks, hippos, and a small population of rare, tree-climbing lions. Break for lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge restaurant; with advance notice, it’s also possible to arrange for a picnic lunch in the park. After lunch, continue through the Lake Nakuru National Park on a afternoon game drive—different animals come out to feed throughout the day. At 3pm, leave Lake Nakuru for Lake Naivasha, the highest-elevation lake in the Great Rift Valley. Take in unobstructed views of the lake on a 1-hour boat ride (own expense), with stops to spot some of Navaisha’s vast bird population, watch eagles feeding, and see the hippos that wallow along the grassy shoreline. Return to shore for an early evening ride to Nairobi, then finish the tour with 6pm drop-off at your hotel.

Lake Nakuru

After meeting your guide at your hotel or residence within Nairobi CBD at 6:00am, start your journey to Nakuru. While en route, stop at the Great Rift Valley view point where you will attain magnificent views of the escarpments. Arrive at Lake Nakuru by 9:00am, completing the 3-hour drive. Upon your arrival, start the 3-hour game drive with your guide and part. Break for lunch at a local restaurant, Lake Nakuru Lodge. Alternatively, you may have a pre-arranged picnic lunch in the park. Have lunch, then continue to enjoy additional game drives on the way out. Depart the park at approximately 3:00pm and head to Lake Naivasha for a 1-hour boat ride. While on the boat ride, enjoy bird watching, and hippo viewing. Once your boat ride comes to an end, return to the dock. Begin the drive to Nairobi for a 6:00pm arrival and get dropped off at your hotel or residence within Nairobi CBD.

Rift Valley Province

The Great Rift Valley is a series of contiguous geographic trenches, approximately 6,000 kilometres (3,700 mi) in total length, that runs from the Beqaa Valley in Lebanon in Asia to Mozambique in southeastern Africa.[1] While the name continues in some usages, it is rarely used in geology as it is considered an imprecise merging of separate though related rift and fault systems.

These are waterfalls within the park that form part of the eco-system, The river feeds into the lake Naivasha. We will stop over here for photos.
